Sensory Training Clinic for Horse and Rider
The 2010 ”Sensory Training Clinic for Horse and Rider” will be held May 14th through 16th. This Clinic, which is open to Intermediate and Advanced riders 18 years of age and older, concentrates on four main courses: Sensory, Trail Obstacles, Horsemanship, and Basic Trail Search Techniques.
Develop horse and rider confidence by learning safe de-sensitizing and horsemanship skills.
Become a team with your horse making each ride safer and more enjoyable.
Learn to “bomb-proof” your horse, preparing for the unexpected builds horse and rider confidence.
Develop you and your horse into a confident team.
These courses are taught by volunteers with 100’s of Search and Rescue training hours.

Clinic Fee:
The cost to attend the Clinic is $260.00 for members of Law Enforcement and SAR organizations, and $285.00 for the general public. This cost includes: 16 hours of training, 6 meals (including Saturday night dinner/dance), dry camping for horse & rider, and a certificate of completion. If you are bringing a non-riding guest, you may purchase additional meals and Saturday night dinner/dance tickets for an additional charge

The Clinic will be held at the Sacramento Horsemen’s Association (SHA) located at 3200 Longview Drive, Sacramento, CA 95821.
Camping:
Dry camping is available at SHA at no additional charge. There are no water/power hookups and no reserved spots. Non-potable water is available for horses. There are no on-site boarding facilities. You may use a portable corral or tie to your trailer, as there are no trees suitable for high tying. If you are going to camp, please be sure to indicate this when you submit your application. Please do not contact SHA directly regarding camping during this clinic.
Pets:
Pets other than your horse are not allowed.
From Davis, take Interstate 80 East toward Reno. Exit at Longview Drive. At the end of the off ramp, turn right. SHA will be on the right approximately ½ mile.
From Auburn, take Interstate 80 West toward San Francisco. Exit at Longview Drive. (the first exit beyond the Capital City Freeway Interchange) At the end of the off ramp, turn left and cross over the freeway. SHA will be on the right approximately ½ mile.
From Placerville (Highway 50) or Stockton (Highway 99), transition to Capital City Freeway toward Reno. Exit at Watt Avenue North. After cloverleaf onto Watt Avenue, move immediately to the far left lane. Turn left at the first intersection (Longview Drive). SHA will be on the left approximately ¾ mile.
